Liverpool YOT - mentor training and accreditation
We have just completed a series of three mentor training programmes for the YOT, with over 50 trainees in total. Those trainees are now working with young offenders in the Liverpool area; and we are just starting to support some of them in working toward their Edexcel Advanced (level 3) Award in 'Mentoring Young People'.
CVS Rochdale - ILM-accredited management training
We have just completed a series of four short management development training programmes, working with Rochdale Council for Voluntary Services to improve management skills for over 40 local people in management roles in the community/voluntary sector. We are continuing to support delegates as they work to gain the ILM Introductory Certificate in First Line Management; and we are planning a second series of four programmes to begin next month.
Education Bradford - Coaching in Education
Working with Education Bradford (the staff development arm of Bradford Education Authority, with the services delivered by SERCO) we developed a specialist qualification - the Edexcel Level 4 Professional Award in Coaching in Education - to accredit the work of coaches in the authority, who support colleagues in schools and other education establishments. Education Bradford's own coach trainers provide the training, whilst RCT provides the accompanying accreditation services to help delegates achieve the Edexcel Award.
East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce - Management training
RCT training is entering its fifth year as the sole approved provider of accredited management training, for the Chamber. Each year we provide up to four ILM Introductory First Line Manager programmes, and this year we are planning to extend that range with other ILM programmes at higher and lower levels.
Kashmir Youth Project (KYP) - mentor training and related support
The training company and the charity Rochdale Connections Trust together are working with a local colleague organisation - KYP - which provides support services to ethnic minorities in the Rochdale area. RCT Training will provide mentor training and accreditation for two groups of KYP mentors. It will also work with other local organisations in he most deprived areas of Rochdale, to train and accredit people to become mentors and to better support those organisations' own young people thereby. The charity will also provide related support services - management advice, policies, procedures, child protection clearance checks etc. - to ensure that these organisations can make best use of their mentors in a professional manner.
