Mentor Case Study
Supporting socially excluded young people
The charity Rochdale Connections Trust is running a major LSC-funded project to support young people who are 'NEET' (Not in Education Employment or Training) with a range of individualised learning and development activities - work tasters, job search and employment skills, basic adult skills etc. As they settle into the project they will be supported by one to one mentors, and the training company provides the mentor training and Edexcel accreditation for that work. Up to 38 young people are to be supported in this way and it is an expansion to the general mentor support work already being delivered by the charity for local young people.
